The 54th Annual Missouri Valley History Conference is accepting proposals for papers on any area of history, including world history, American history, social-cultural history, women's history, religious history, political history, military history, or any other area. The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites hotel in Omaha, NE, on March 3-5, 2011. Proposals should be received by October 22, 2010 and should include an abstract and short vita. Send to the Program Chair, Prof. Charles King, Department of History, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 6001 Dodge St, Omaha Ne 68182-0213, or by email at cwking@mail.unomaha.edu. The MVHC does accept papers from students, and prizes for best student papers will be awarded. In addition to the main conference, this year the MVHC is also hosting a sequel to the 2006 "Hell and its Afterlife" conference, and is therefore encouraging papers specifically dealing with Hell, Heaven and other afterlife scenarios. The MVHC also hosts panels sponsored by the Society for Military History, and proposals dealing with specifically military topics should be sent to Dr. Connie K. Harris at ckharris1@juno.com.
