I am seeking panelists to participate in a session on gender and southern slave markets at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Southern Historical Association, Baltimore Maryland (October 27 - 30, 2011)
My paper will explore white women’s relationships to and navigation of antebellum slave markets. I ask scholars whose work might interrogate aspects of gender and southern slave marketplaces during any era to contact me via email at sjonesrogers@history.rutgers.edu as soon as possible, but no later than September 5, 2010. If you are interested in presenting a paper, please send me a 150-word description of your proposed paper, a 100-word summary of your relevant publications if applicable, and your CV.
The SHA’s submission deadline is September 15, 2010 so it would be great if you could reach out to me before September 5th with the requested information.
