The Pacific Arts Association (PAA), an Affiliated Society of the College Art Association (CAA), welcomes session proposals for presentation at CAA in Los Angeles (Feb 22-25, 2012) that cover the breadth of current thought, practice and research in Pacific art and visual culture. Please send proposals with CV(s) for co-chair(s) to Stacy Kamehiro and Bernida Webb-Binder by August 15, 2010.
As an affiliated society, PAA may sponsor one proposal for a 2½ hour regular session at the Annual Conference. The Annual Conference Committee will consider a PAA-sponsored session proposal, along with the other submissions it receives, on the basis of merit.
Prospective session chairs are encouraged to familiarize themselves with PAA via www.pacificarts.org and to also familiarize themselves with the CAA proposal submission process at http://conference.collegeart.org/2012/ in the event that PAA selects their proposal for support. Please note: Any session proposal can be submitted directly to CAA but only one will receive a letter of support from PAA for sponsorship and consideration and must be submitted to PAA first by the August 15th deadline.
The officers will choose one proposal to be submitted, and provide a letter of support from PAA to be submitted electronically to the CAA Annual Conference Committee by its September 1st deadline.
