The Japan Foundation Fellow Seminar “Discourse on the Body and Practice:‘shintai’and ‘nikutai’ in Hijikata Tatsumi's butô” will be held on Monday, August 2nd at 18:30 in the headquarters of the Japan Foundation. The fellow from Italy, Katja Centonze (Calabria University, Trier University, Waseda University), will present her research on the body in Japanese performing arts. She will discuss problems concerning theory and performance practice, text and translation, focusing on the categorisations of "shintai" and "nikutai" in Hijikata Tatsumi’s butô.
