The Nautilus: A Maritime Journal of Literature, History, and Culture, has published its first issue (Spring 2010). The issue contains essays by Nathaniel Philbrick, Luis Iglesias, Clinton Corcoran, Mark Patrick, and Wayne Franklin, as well as book reviews on a range of maritime subjects. Please see our Web site for subscription information.
The Nautilus seeks essays for its second issue (Spring 2011) on any literary or historical period as it relates to humankind's relationship with the sea through fiction or nonfiction; drama or poetry; naval, merchant, or cultural history; or musical or other forms of artistic expression. Manuscripts should be approximately 20-25 pages. Please see our Web site for full submission guidelines. The deadline for submissions is January 1, 2011.
