Call for Papers: Haitian Religion
Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses intends to publish a special volume on Haitian religion, guest edited by Terry Rey and Karen Richman. Contributions are invited on a wide range of topics on religious culture in Haiti or in the Haitian diaspora, including papers treating any of Haiti’s three major traditions, Catholicism, Protestantism, and Vodou, or alternative traditions and/or new religious movements. Any disciplinary approach is welcome, from theology, philosophy, and religious studies, to linguistics, anthropology, sociology, history, and political science. Interdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged. Papers may be submitted in either English or French. Deadline for submissions to be considered is September 15, 2010, and they should be emailed to either Terry Rey (reyt@temple.edu) or Karen Richman (krichman@nd.edu).
Appel à Communications: La Religion Haïtienne
Appel de textes : La Religion haïtienne Studies in Religion / Sciences Religieuses prévoit publier, sous la direction de Terry Rey et de Karen Richman, un numéro spécial sur la religion haïtienne. Nous aimerions recevoir des propositions de textes sur des sujets divers touchant tous les aspects de la culture religieuse en Haïti ou dans la diaspora haïtienne. Nous sommes particulièrement intéressés par des textes portant sur les trois traditions religieuses majeures (le catholicisme, le protestantisme, et le vodou) et sur des traditions alternatives ou des nouveaux mouvements religieux. Les perspectives de toutes les disciplines universitaires sont les bienvenues (théologie, philosophie, anthropologie, sociologie, histoire, science politique, linguistique, science religieuse…). Les approches interdisciplinaires sont particulièrement encouragées. La date limite pour la soumission de propositions est le 15 decembre 2010.
