Western Jewish Studies Association Conference,
April 10-11, 2011, in San Diego. Call for paper and panel proposals in all areas of Jewish Studies. WJSA encourages papers and panels on Jews in the American West, pedagogical aspects in Jewish Studies, and contemporary Israeli issues. Panels devoted to anniversaries of events in Jewish history like Jewish participation in the American Civil War (1861) the Beilis Trial (1911), the Eichmann Trial (1961), the awarding of the Nobel Prize to Elie Wiesel (1986) or any others that fall on century or half century marks are particularly welcome.
Paper proposals should be no longer than one double-spaced typed page and should be submitted with a short CV that contains contact information. Jewish Studies scholars, including graduate students, are invited to submit proposals for papers/presentations/workshops and should be sent to Lawrence Baron, lbaron@mail.sdsu.edu. Individuals wishing to chair a session should submit their CV.
