Films for the Feminist Classroom proudly announces the Spring 2010 publication of Volume 2, Issue 1. Films for the Feminist Classroom, the electronic periodical of film reviews housed on the Signs website at Rutgers University, is available at http://www.signs.rutgers.edu/ffc_home.html.
Issue 2.1 of FFC contains reviews of twenty five films, including Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress and the Tangerine; Poto Mitan: Haitian Women, Pillars of the Global Economy; Unborn in the USA: Inside the War on Abortion; and She Got Game: Behind the Scenes of the Women’s Tennis Tour.
In this issue’s special feature, Alexandra Juhasz explores the notion of a lesbian aesthetic as exemplified by the creative process behind director Cheryl Dunye’s new film, The OWLs (2010). This interactive, collaborative special feature contains video clips from the premier of The OWLs at the Berlinale and a list of recommended films.
We hope that you enjoy reading Issue 2.1 of Films for the Feminist Classroom and that you will circulate the news of its publication among your colleagues.
Please also keep in mind that we welcome the submission of film review proposals. Submit a proposal anytime as a Word document attachment via e-mail to: FFC@signs.rutgers.edu.
