Secrets from the Past: From Ancient Texts to Modern Medicine

Alain Touwaide - Historian of Sciences in the department of botany, National Museum of Natural History, and Scientific Director of the Institute for the Preservation of Medical Traditions - will show how knowledge of medicinal plants was transmitted from classical antiquity to the age of printing and how this knowledge can be repurposed in contemporary research as a source for new discoveries.
