Historians and social scientists interested in contributing an article length-essay on Blacks and Puerto Ricans in the Bronx for publication in an edited volume. Topics can vary, but the editor is most interested in the following subjects:

- histories of specific Black and Puerto Rican Bronx communities that connect the local to city-wide, national, and/or Diasporic/transnational contexts
- Blacks and Puerto Ricans and Bronx electoral politics

- the role of religion and religious institutions in the formation of Black and/or Puerto Rican communities in the Bronx
- Blacks and Puerto Ricans and ethnic succession in the Bronx
- Bronx Puerto Ricans and hip hop
- political/cultural discourses on Blacks and Puerto Ricans and the burning of the "South Bronx"
- The African Diaspora in the Bronx
