This panel will examine early narratives by Diasporic Africans as part of the conception of the Black Atlantic. Papers will explore paradigms for reading eighteenth-century African Diasporic narratives, which challenge Western cultural, religious, and social values. Papers which employ African-centered theoretical frames are highly encouraged. Please send a 500 word abstract to Fran L. Lassiter (flassite@mc3.edu)by September 30, 2010.
