The Centre international de formation européenne (CIFE) in Nice invites graduate students and young professionals to apply for its traditional Summer University in Istanbul. The programme is realised in close cooperation with Bilgi University and with the finacial support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. v
This year´s course about "The EU-Turkey relations: Lisbon Treaty and beyond" starts on July 7th, 2010 and ends on August 5th. Teaching language is English.
Topics amongst others will be: Transformation processes in EU accession countries; Westernisation in Turkish Politics;Political System of the EU after the Lisbon Treaty; Turkey and Democracy; Human Rights in Turkey; Civil-military Relations in Turkey; Diversity and Citizenship in Turkey; Europe in the long run : Where do we go?; Istanbul as an Urban Landscape: Historical, Cultural and Political Aspects etc.
Working groups, discussions, a simulation, excursions and cultural visits also constitute a part of the summer school.
The group will be composed of approx. 40 students from Turkey and Europe. Eligible are graduate students, but we also consider applications from students in their second or third year.
Some scholarships are available for specially qualified candidates.
