A multi-disciplinary conference on the relationship between war and faith in the past and present, the extent to which religion can be seen as a cause of conflict, the religious discourses used to define the experience of war, and the ways that faith can be instrumental to reconciliation and reconstruction. Speakers have been divided into the following four panels: 'Faith and Fighters in the World Wars,' 'Just War, Spirituality and the Ethics of Conflict,' 'Religious Violence and Extremism,' and 'Religion and Reconciliation.'
Confirmed speakers include: Anatol Lieven, John Wolffe, Adrian Pabst, Michael Snape, Antoine Capet, Michael Kerr, Simon Keyes, Timothy Demy, Pauletta Otis, Laura Shipler Chico, Maleiha Malik, and Christopher Coker.
The conference will be held at Goodenough College, London on 18 June 2010.
