CES-UCLG: call for contributions of case studies concerning local policies of social inclusion in the areas of: biodiversity protection, urban agriculture, clean energy and environmental justice. Deadline June 10.
The Centre for Social Studies (CES) at the University of Coimbra (PT), in partnership with the Committee on Participatory Democracy and Social Inclusion (CISDP) of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG, the International Association of Municipalities and Regions) is to create a Library of 65 policies of social inclusion in different areas of the world, to be concluded by the end of 2010.
We are seeking collaborators to help us identifying and analysing
widespread, participatively built policies of social
inclusion taking place across the world in dialogue with local or
regional institutions.
In the present phase, we are asking to fill ONE descriptive FORM for
each of the POLICY EXPERIENCES you would like to propose. The PROPOSALS will be submitted to a joint committee of CES and CISDP/UCLG which will select the most interesting for the Library.
If selected, the case you proposed should be developed into (a) some
general data on the place where the experience originated and developed; (b) a synthetic form allowing a brief comparative reading of all the selected policy examples (1000 words)
Each accepted case will be paid an amount of 250 euros (+ 130 tax) for Europeans, 300 euros net for Extra-European researchers.
In addition, collaborators will be contacted for contributing to a
collective volume on policies of social inclusion, which will
elaborate comparative analysis on the selected cases.
The Library's languages are: French, English and Spanish. Portuguese
is also accepted for cases concerning lusophone countries.
Early evaluation of submitted cases will start as soon as they are
received, and continue until June 10, 2010.
