The Frankreich-Zentrum (Centre of French Studies) of the university of Freiburg offers the master degree programme Intercultural Studies. Germany and France („Interkulturelle Studien. Deutschland und Frankreich“/"Études interculturelles franco-allemandes")in cooperation with the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and the Université Lumière – Lyon 2 .

The first year of studies takes place in Freiburg, Germany.
The second year which takes places at the universities in Lyon, France, offers five possibilities of specialisation:
- Histoire moderne et contemporaine
- Histoire de la pensée politique
- Sociologie politique
- Etudes germaniques
- Information et communication
