Call for entry submissions for a two-volume encyclopedia of American democracy, to be published by Greenwood Press. The project, inspired by Tocqueville's prescription, is developed around the theme of "educating democracy." Entries will focus on a specific aspect of American democracy, and will vary in length depending upon the scope of their content. The two volumes are intended to serve a broad audience ranging from college undergraduates and high school students to general readers interested in American political principles and institutions. If interested a longer description of the project along with a list of available entries will be provided upon request. Both professors and graduate students in political science or history, with an area expertise in some aspect of American politics, government and public policy, are encouraged to submit entries. If interested please contact Scott J. Hammond, James Madison University, at hammonsj@jmu.edu for more information.
