Approaches to Using Images in the Advanced Writing Classroom
The 2010 SAMLA conference will be in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 5-7, 2010. This session seeks paper proposals that address the relationship between the advanced composition classroom and visual images. Topics may include, but are not limited to: pedagogical strategies of using visual images in advanced composition courses; assessing student assignments and students’ employment of visuals in advanced writing; designing methods to encourage students to use visuals in composition; new connections between advanced writing, technology, and visual constructions; and critical engagement of visual literacies and dissemination of images in the advanced writing classroom. By May 20, 2010, please submit paper proposals of 250 words and a short C.V.
