This conference on the 12th of May focuses on some aspects of the running exhibition 'BLACK. Masters of Black in Fashion & Costume'. The lectures will be partly in English, partly in Dutch.

11am–11.30am: Over ‘rou-mantels’, ‘roukleren’, ‘lampers’
en ook de Zwarte Dood (Bianca du Mortier, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam)
11.30am–12am: Een kleurrijke thuis? Sporen van kleurgebruik
in het Antwerpse interieur, 16de–18de eeuw (Bruno Blondé, University of Antwerp)

3.30pm–4pm: Once upon a dress… The story of the little black dress (Emmanuelle Dirix, Winchester University, U.K. and Fashion Academy, Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen)
4pm–4.30pm: Black since the 1950s: a tale of romance and rebellion (Karen Van Godtsenhoven, MoMu)
4.30pm–4.50pm: Dark. The use of black in my collection (Helena Lumelsky, designer)
4.50pm–5.15pm: Question Round
5.15pm–8pm: Time to visit the Black exhibition (open till 8pm)
