CALL FOR PAPERS
The African Students Research Initiative (ASRI) is pleased to announce that the call for papers in occasion of its first interdisciplinary journal – The African Students’ Journal – is
open. This first edition scheduled to be published in December 2010 will follow an open theme to allow for diversity. It will concentrate on attracting high quality and original submissions from students (Master or PHD level) or early career researchers (not more than 3 years after the PHD diploma) in any discipline enrolled at a recognized university and carrying out research on Africa. Book reviews of recognised African scholars will also be
accepted.
The selection committee composed of competent members will review and consider all submissions for publication. The submissions will be blind reviewed by at least 2 peer reviewers and then by the editors. As a bilingual journal, submissions in both French and English are accepted.
Submissions must be received in Word format by August 31st 2010. They should be emailed to asri_publication@yahoo.fr or asri.asso@yahoo.com. All submissions must bear institution membership status, a valid email address and a short CV and must not exceed 4500 words, footnotes included.
Authors will be notified of acceptance by September 30th 2010. v
The final deadline for submission of full papers for publication is October 30th, 2010.
All submissions must follow the APA guidelines (http://apastyle.apa.org/) and must be original texts.
About the ASRI association
ASRI is a not for profit association that aims at developing research excellence through the promotion of research related activities. It proposes an annual peer reviewed interdisciplinary
online journal (bilingual) edited by postgraduate students from Africa. This open access journal aims at fostering communication between students and promoting excellence in interdisciplinary research. ASRI not only aims at providing a publishing opportunity but also seeks to develop publishing skills among early career researchers from Africa. To guide the development of the journal, a number of seasoned researchers specialist in African research work alongside the editorial team.

APPEL A ARTICLES
Nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer l’appel à articles pour la parution du premier numéro de African Students’ Journal à paraître en décembre 2010. Il s'agit d'un numéro entièrement consacré aux articles variés sans thématique particulière et privilégiera une approche pluraliste. Son objectif est de réunir des articles scientifiques originaux et d’un haut niveau sur l’Afrique. Nous acceptons toute contribution des étudiants inscrits dans des établissements reconnus d’études supérieures (Master, doctorat) ou des jeunes docteurs (moins de trois ans après le diplôme). Nous acceptons également des critiques d’ouvrages récents sur l’Afrique.
Toute contribution sera évaluée de façon anonyme par deux membres compétents du comité de lecture, puis par le comité de rédaction. Cette revue bilingue accepte les articles rédigés en anglais et français.
Les articles accompagnés d’un bref CV doivent être envoyés avant le 31 aout 2010 par fichier électronique sous format Word à asri_publication@yahoo.fr ou asri.asso@yahoo.com. Ils devront comporter le nom, prénom et institution de rattachement. Ils ne devront pas excéder les 4500 mots notes incluses. Leur acceptation sera notifiée le 30 septembre 2010. La date limite pour l'envoi des articles définitifs est le 30 octobre 2010.
Toute contribution doit suivre les normes du APA (Adaptation française des normes bibliographiques de l'APA) et doit être un texte inédit et original.
L’association
ASRI est une association à but non lucrative qui a pour objectif de promouvoir l’excellence en recherche parmi les étudiants travaillant sur l’Afrique. Elle propose une revue
interdisciplinaire publiée en ligne et éditée par des étudiants doctorants Africains. Son accès est gratuit. Son objectif est de promouvoir la communication et la collaboration entre les étudiants travaillant sur l’Afrique ainsi que l’excellence dans la recherche interdisciplinaire. Un des ces objectifs principaux est de permettre aux jeunes chercheurs africains de publier leurs travaux et de développer des compétences en publication scientifique. Trois chercheurs confirmés spécialiste de l’Afrique veillent sur le développement et la pertinence de la revue.
