A century after the 5th October Revolution and more than eight decades after its defeat, the First Portuguese Republic
is remembered by the politic revolution yet and by the misfortunes of an unstable regime. Nevertheless, Republicanism has been, before it converts into a regime, a modernizing cultural movement too.
The selection of papers by a scientific committee will assure diversity and quality of the material presented by all researchers.
