This first event of its kind will bring together primarily North American scholars currently conducting anthropological research in the South Caucasus to present their work on issues such as the place of archaeology in post-socialist identity and nation formation, citizenship and social welfare, territory, emergent economies, and the production of knowledge in and about this region since the collapse of communism.
