The New England History Teachers Association will host its annual fall conference October 8, 2010 in Salem, Massachusetts at the Salem Athenaeum. This year's theme for the one-day conference is "Civil Wars: New Perspectives" and our keynote speaker is Professor Thomas Bender (NYU). We seek submissions for sessions for short sessions (we anticipate only six break out presentations, of approximately 30 minutes each) which present new ways of understanding Civil War experiences. Our membership is largely secondary school teachers; thus, submissions which incorporate ways of teaching are also encouraged. Submissions which incorporate new voices through primary sources are encouraged. Send an abstract, brief outline of presentation, list of handouts, and brief C.V.
