Call for Proposals: Visual Culture Caucus-sponsored special session
CAA (College Art Association) 2011, New York
*Deadline for receipt of proposals: April 30, 2010
The Visual Culture Caucus is calling for proposals for the theme of the Caucus-sponsored special (1.5-hour) session at the February 2011 College Art Association Annual Conference in New York.
Persons who would like to propose a subject, theme, or question for panelists to address, and who are willing to serve as session chair(s) should their proposal be selected, are invited to send a one page, double-spaced abstract (300 words) and short vita.
Abstracts should describe the topic or theme of your session and/or posing questions for panelists to address. You should not propose a slate of speakers – that comes later, in response to a competitive call for papers.
Please submit by e-mail to Niharika Dinkar (NiharikaDinkar@boisestate.edu) and Craig Peariso (CraigPeariso@boisestate.edu). Abstracts must be received by April 30, 2010.
Jurying of proposals will be double-blind. The call for papers for the winning proposal will be announced on the Visual Culture Caucus mailing list later this spring.
Submitting a session proposal is a fantastic way to take an active role in the Visual Culture Caucus, and to help shape the conversations taking place in the field of Visual Culture more broadly.
