This website will interest anyone studying, teaching or simply interested in 20th century British social, cultural or oral history. It showcases life history interviews carried out with working-class people about life in Britain during the 1950s and 1960s. Audio clips, photographs, transcripts and context are available for such subjects as 'teenagers' and 'housing'. Check back regularly for updates on events and tips on carrying out historical research for family historians, undergraduates, graduates and tenured academics. The website is entirely based on original research conducted by Dr Selina Todd and Dr Hilary Young. Feedback is always very welcome!
