My colleague and I are looking for participants (chair, commentator and third panelist) for an Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) panel on the connections between African American economic empowerment and African American Mass Media (advertising, magazines, newspapers, radio, television etc.) The unifying theme is how African Americans have used/use black mass media to assist and economically improve African American life. We hope scholars working on relevant topics can contribute to our panel.
Please send expressions of interest that include an abstract of 200-250 words along with a brief CV to Kim Gallon at kgallon@sewanee.edu by Friday, April 2nd. Thank you.
