The Oregon Historical Quarterly is seeking opportunities to work with historians of Oregon women. The journal plans to use the upcoming 2012 centennial of the achievement of woman suffrage in Oregon as a catalyst for promoting new scholarship on the subject of women and citizenship in the state. We envision a special issue published sometime during 2012 and invite scholars to use the November 2010 conference, Game Changers and History Makers: Women in Pacific Northwest History, as an opportunity to begin drafting manuscripts and having conversations with colleagues on the subject of women and citizenship in Oregon.
The call for proposals can be found here: http://www.h-net.org/announce/show.cgi?ID=174559; note that the deadline for proposals is March 29, 2010.
The Editor of the Quarterly is working to help organize one or more panels for the conference. Please also get in touch if you are interested in participating: eliza.canty-jones@ohs.org or 503.306.5236.
