Call for Papers: One Day Symposium - Writing histories; Constructing Nations. 24th May St Antony's College, University of Oxford
We would like to invite proposals for this one-day symposium on the construction of national histories, to be held at St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford, on Monday 24th May 2010. The symposium will focus on three regions.
(1) The Middle East
(2) The Republics of the Former Soviet Union
(3) Africa
It will provide an opportunity to compare current research on the topics of historiography and the creation of national histories in the twentieth century in these regions.
All applications on the theme of historians and the nation state and the issue of national historiography will be considered, as we aim to combine a broad spectrum of research in each panel.
