Can we say that cinema is gradually becoming an "incredible shrinking medium," as David N. Rodowick suggests (in The Virtual Life of Film, 2007), disappearing into the archives and film museums, or – on the contrary – can it be considered as the ultimate, chameleon-like intermedium that continually shifts its shape? Consequently, should we speak more of an all pervasive "cinematic experience" instead of a cinematic medium? What really happens to film once its traditional medium has shape shifted into various digital forms and once its traditional locations, institutions and usages have been uprooted? In the light of these questions we propose a conference addressing issues concerning the major changes in the medium, in the contexts and in the usages of film in a post-media age. We welcome papers about films in art galleries, in cyber space, about "accented" forms, private spheres of cinema, about the rise of such post-media genres as the web series, or about the major artistic reflexions on these changes in motion pictures (the films of Egoyan, Haneke, etc.)
