With a focus on past and present transnational developments in the Americas, this conference seeks to conceive of the New World beyond the scope of nation states--relationally and transnationally. From a wide range of academic disciplines the conference will address address theoretical approaches to transnationalism, social, political, economic, and (trans-)regional backgrounds and contexts, as well as cultural negotiations of transnational issues in and between North, Central and South America.
