The Centre for the Comparative Study of Muslim Societies and Cultures (Simon Fraser University) is offering a two week Summer Programme on Muslim Cultures, in partnership with the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations, (Aga Khan University). The programme dates are July 19-30, 2010.
Major international scholars will be brought together on the Vancouver campus of Simon Fraser University to provide instructional modules addressing various facets of the history, culture and contemporary challenges of Muslims.
The programme covers a wide range of topics, including pluralism, law, modernity, and gender. Classroom sessions will be enriched by a range of cultural activities, including film screenings and gallery tours.
The programme seeks to attract interested individuals from the general public, including a range of professionals from the education, business, and government sectors. The registration deadline is April 30th.
