The Philippine Academic Consortium for Latin American Studies (PACLAS) will hold its second international conference on Latin American Studies on October 5-7, 2010 in Manila. This activity is sponsored by PACLAS in collaboration with De La Salle University-Dasmariņas, Department of Foreign Affairs, and various Latin-American embassies in the Philippines. The venue of the conference in Manila will be announced soon.
The conference theme is
"THE BICENTENNIAL OF INDEPENDENCE OF LATIN AMERICAN NATIONS"
Call for papers (Second Announcement)
Please be guided by the following timetable in abstract/paper submission:
Deadline of submission of abstracts: April 30, 2010
Screening of abstracts: May 12, 2010
Notification of acceptance: May 31, 2010
Deadline of submission of full papers: August 31, 2010
Conference Proper: October 5-7, 2010
The registration fee, which covers conference kits plus lunch and refreshments, is US$ 150 for foreign participants and PhP 3,500.00 for local participants. A separate fee shall be charged for a tour of selected cultural/historical sites.
For local participants, a discounted rate of PhP 3,000.00 shall apply if payment is made before September 1, 2010.
