We are looking for contributors for an edited volume on violence in Hispanic America and Spain, tentatively titled, Restructuring Violence in the Spanish-Speaking World. Our general objective is to compile a series of essays that examine the practices and experiences of violence as they are tied to socio-economic, political, and cultural developments in today’s post 9/11 and 11-M world. We welcome work of a theoretical nature, essays that focus on forms and practices of violence, and texts that explore expressions of violence via various types of cultural production. By March 31, 2010, submit a one-page abstract in English or Spanish of your proposed essay and an abbreviated CV or academic bio. Submissions and inquiries should be sent via email to Jess Boersma (boersmaj@uncw.edu) and/or Christopher Dennis (dennisc@uncw.edu).
