Food Fights: Current Trends and Historical Movements
The recent explosion of interest in the way food is produced, and the proliferation of alternatives to argibusiness begs the question of whether this is an elite movement which takes place at the expense of attention to national and world hunger. This panel welcomes papers on that question, as well as other topics which include, but are not limited to:
-- ethical eating
-- health and the medicalization of food
-- pleasure and prohibition
-- writing food
-- culture and community
Please submit Abstracts of 250-300 words to Laurence at laurence@cloverfieldpress.com by March 5, 2010.
