Join NMHS for this presentation as Captain Donald Lauer takes us on a journey through history, starting with the remarkable developments of the early navigators,covering the art and science of navigation as it developed through the ages and culminating in the great advancements that are seen in present-day navigational technology.
Launer's popular book, Navigation Through the Ages, focuses on the tools invented by each age and civilization, tracing the evolution of humankind's navigational skills from the kamal of the Arabs and the lead-line first used by the Romans, to the radio and satellite communication devices available to modern sailors.
