As part of Black History Month in February, Exploritas is pleased to present a special program on how to trace your family history on a Day of Discovery, “Finding Your African Roots: A Non-traditional Approach.” The program takes place on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Exploritas Headquarters, 11 Avenue de Lafayette in downtown Boston. The cost is $79 which includes lunch, a talk featuring Gina Paige, the president and co-founder of African Ancestry, Inc., and a chance to win a DNA kit to trace ancestral origins.
Among the day’s highlights, Ms. Paige will look into the process of tracing one’s African bloodlines by delving into the scientific wonders of DNA analysis. After lunch, the DNA results will be revealed for Reverend Joseph Lowery, who delivered the benediction at President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
