The ADE Program Committee for the 2010 meeting would like to encourage members to submit panel and paper ideas. We have extended the deadline for submissions which was originally February 10, and will consider submissions through the end of the month. The new submission deadline is February 26.
The Program Committee for the 2010 annual meeting of the Association for Documentary Editing invites the submission of paper and/or panel ideas for the meeting on 15-17 October 2010 in Philadelphia.
See http://www.documentaryediting.org/meeting/index.html
The committee suggests a theme for members to consider for submissions: “New Approaches to Old Documents”: investigations of how cultural documents can or ought to be edited. Of particular interest are musical, legal, accounting and financial, oral, Native American, and foreign language documents; journals and diaries; preprinted materials, comics and advertisements. Panels might consider the variety of ways editors work with these documents and how best to present them to the public. This theme can be broadly construed—all ideas are welcome.
Please send a short curriculum vitae and 250-350 word abstract or proposal for papers and panels to ssh8a@virginia.edu by 26 February 2010. ADE has some travel funds available for presenters. If you or members of your panel are interested in applying for funds, please indicate this in your cover email. Presenters of papers or participants on panels who apply to ADE for funds should become members of ADE of they are not already.
Program committee: Sue H. Perdue, Chair; Noelle Baker, Candace Falk, Ellen Hickman, David B. Mattern
