Announcing an all-inclusive, 9-credit study program featuring: all program costs, lodging with Sénégalese families, meals, comprehensive insurance; 45 hours of intensive French, 25 hours introduction to Wolof language; 3 days at Saint Louis International Jazz Festival;excursions to Gorée Island, Toubab Dialao, Bandia Park, etc.; encounters with Sénégalese jazz and popular music, dance, and art; and lectures about Sénégalese history and culture by prominent African scholars. Eligibility: Sophomore or higher standing, at least 2.8 gpa, any major.
Program cost of $4400 exclusive of passport, yellow fever vaccination, and malaria pills. Roundtrip Norfolk-Dakar airfare (currently about $1400-$1600) available, or individual flight can be arranged by participant. Non-refundable $200 deposit due by February 22, will be applied to total cost. Remaining monies due by April 2.
