Update - Yemen 2010
The Society of Arab & Islamic Studies (University of Exeter-UK) along with the Sheba Center for Strategic Studies, the University of Sana’a and the Center for Gulf Studies (University of Exeter-UK) announce the upcoming international academic conference ‘Yemen from the Threshold: Identity, Regionalism and Globalization’. This will be the first independent academic conference of its kind in the Republic of Yemen.
Through this most ambitious project we aim to strengthen the relation between Yemeni academics and the international community, and bring together specialists from around the world to engage discussions on the many issues of pressing importance such as regional security, governance, decentralization, political pluralism, legal reform, women’s rights, generational dialogue, crisis reporting, crisis management, the role of the private sector in strategy making, resource management, conflict resolution, dialogue and reconciliation.
This conference will be held at the Movenpick Hotel & Resort in Sana’a, Republic of Yemen from 17 to 19 May 2010. Further information is available through our website www.yemen-2010.com.
