The HistoryMakers is hosting a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Institute on African American Political History on July 4 – July 30, 2010. We will invite 23 high school teachers and 2 graduate students to participate in this immersive program where they will develop skills, learn techniques, and acquire new knowledge they can use to better implement African American political history into their classroom curricula.
There is a rigorous application process, but participants will receive a $3,300 (minus the expenses for housing) to cover living expenses and travel to Chicago. You can visit http://www.thehistorymakers.com/edday/neh_2010_summer_introduction.asp for more information.
