The Pirandello Society of America invites 250 word abstracts for papers on the following topics by March 20, 2010, for inclusion in one or two panels at MLA 2011, in Los Angeles.
1. "Crossing Genres in Word & Image: Grotesque Narratives in Pirandello and his Contemporaries"
Works, across genres, by Pirandello and international contemporaries that embed grotesque, often autobiographical, narratives in literary, dramatic, and visual art.
2. "Masks, Marionettes, Puppets in Modern Italian Culture "
Papers on the use of masks, marionettes and puppets in Pirandello and other modernists in theatre, film and literature
