The African and African American Studies Program and French Department of Washington University in St. Louis invite applications to our summer program in Senegal: June 5-July 8, 2010. This five-week program is designed for students who want to build their conversational French language skills, learn more about Francophone West Africa, and experiment with field research. Dakar, Senegal provides the perfect opportunity to explore themes in African and Francophone studies because of its geographical location and unique history.
Students will receive 6 credits for the program: 3 for French language and 3 in African Studies. In addition to the courses, there are pre-arranged study trips to cities outside of Dakar and students will complete a small research project. The cost of the program is $4000 plus airfare.
