We seek to examine storytelling as both a system of expression and as an influence on various written and visual forms. What might comparative and multidisciplinary approaches to storytelling reveal about the overlaps and expansions in different media and genres? What more might we learn about the ways in which myths and legends continue to feed to the popular imagination?
Possible subjects may include:
• history and evolution of storytelling:
• The storyteller: symbols, figures, and representativity
• Storytelling, philosophy, and didactics
• Storytelling: from theatricality to theatricalization
• Storytelling as an inspiration for novels
• Influence of storytelling in the visual arts (film, photography, and plastic arts )
Please send a 250-word abstract before March 20th, 2010 to Dr. Jean-Georges Chali, Marie-Andrée Saint-Honoré and Dr. Hanétha Vété-Congolo:
