Global Youth Connect (GYC) is seeking to engage with young academics, activists and artists interested in contributing to Human Rights education and activism in Rwanda as part of GYC’s annual Human Rights Delegations to Rwanda.
GYC is currently accepting applications to three Human Rights delegations to Rwanda in April, July, and August, 2010 respectively. The August delegation is geared for artists engaged in human rights education and action. The age range for April and August is 18 - 35. And the July delegation is 18 - 30. Exceptions may be made.
The deadline for applications is January 29, 2010. For more information and to download an application please visit www.globalyouthconnect.org/participate
GYC works with partner organizations and human rights activists around the world to build and support an international community of youth who are actively promoting and protecting human rights.
On the ground in Rwanda, our delegations support sustainable peace and progress through our work with AJPRODHO (www.ajprodho.org) and other human rights organizations like COPORWA (www.coporwa.org).
Rwanda still bears the scars of the 1994 Genocide, as well as the scars of years of colonial and governmental oppression, but the level of progress in the country since 1994 is palpable, encouraging, and positively enabling for more progress to occur. We are proud to be a part of that progress and hope that you or someone you know can join us.
