The Mercyhurst College Colloquium on the Americas seeks papers, presentations and panels from any discipline on topics discussing the peoples of the Americas and how they perceive/relate to issues of work and/or labor.
The colloquium begins on the evening of Friday, April 16 with a reading by Mexican-American Chicana novelist, poet, short story writer, and essayist Ana Castillo.
Papers will be delivered on Saturday, April 17 in a colloquium-style setting (only one panel at a time to allow for greater participation by the attendees).
Please submit an abstract of 300 words with a cover letter including your name, academic affiliation and the proposal's title. To encourage participation from all who attend, we are asking that all communications be delivered in English. The program will allow for papers of 20 minutes, followed by a period of questions. Submission Deadline: February 1, 2010.
