A colleague and I are looking for a third paper and chairperson/discussant for a panel on Interracial Marriage for the Bershire Confence in June 2011. One paper will address African American, Indian, and white Intermarriage in Massachusetts between 1800-1820. The other paper will address the marriages of Japanese women with white servicemen in the post World War II era United States. In order to fulfill the theme of the Berkshire Conference – “Across Time and Space” – we’re looking for a panelist that studies interracial marriage outside of the United States or a different time period from the ones mentioned above.
If you are interested in joining this panel as a discussant/chairperson or to present paper, please email Kelly Ryan at ryanka@ius.edu by February 1st, 2010. Please send an abstract of your paper if you are interested in presenting a paper.
