The Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Society seeks 15-minute papers for presentation at its session on Longfellow and his contemporaries at the American Literature Association conference, May 27-30, in San Francisco.
Topics: Open. We welcome papers that pursue innovative approaches to Longfellow’s writings, propose new directions and strategies for the teaching his poetry or prose, or offer critical appraisals or reappraisals of Longfellow’s relationships with his contemporaries (especially those outside traditionally literary fields, such as Charles Sumner) or his work as an editor and and translator.
