The department of American Studies at the University at Buffalo seeks submissions for their annual Storyteller’s Conference to be held on Friday February 26th and Saturday February 27th, 2010. The Storyteller’s Conference was created to honor the legacy of John C. Mohawk, a founder of the American Studies department and a great storyteller and interdisciplinary scholar. All proposals that use an interdisciplinary approach to analyze any aspect of the Americas will be considered. Applicants may submit proposals for paper or poster presentations. We strongly encourage submissions in the following fields of study:
Native Studies
African American Studies
Asian American Studies
Environmental Studies
Gender Studies
Queer Studies
Comparative Ethnic Studies
Disability Studies
Media/Film Studies
Transnational Studies
Postcolonial Studies
American Literature
American History
American Popular Culture
American Music
The conference will also feature an introductory address from Rosemarie Garland Thomson and a John C. Mohawk legacy address (speaker TBA).
