We are looking for two papers for our session "When elites dream of empires" for the European Social Science and History Conference to be held in Ghent (Belgium) between April 13 and April 16. The session is aimed to explore the ways in which elites in a broad sense envisioned, designed or even dreamed of imperial projects or utopias in early modern and modern periods. We encourage historians dealing with these and related topics to send us their proposals before January 14, 2010.
