Europe volumes: The volumes will give a give a broad overview of women’s lives during the century, beginning with a lengthy historical introduction. The volumes will provide a brief timeline of major events in that period and then a narrative with topical chapters will round out the coverage. Major topic areas will vary but will be along the lines of Women and Family Life, Marriage, and Childbearing; Women and Religion; Women and Work; Women and Politics; Women and the Law; and Women and the Arts. Country/regional differences will be noted as necessary. Chronology. Bibliography. Glossary if appropriate. Index.

Asia, Islam volumes:
Same as above in the main, with topical chapters that trace developments over time, with any specifics by country as needed

Authors must have Ph.D. and/or be independent scholars who are subject specialists and proven producers of pertinent book-length publications. Co-authoring is fine. These are not contributor volumes.
