I am seeking participants for Global Noir: Reading the Transnational City, a panel at the Crossroads 2010 International Cultural Studies Conference in Hong Kong, June 17-21, 2010. I am hoping to receive proposals from urban theorists; cultural geographers; philosophers; literary, film, and new media critics (or practitioners); gender studies experts; political economists; forensic anthropologists; and anybody else that is intrigued by noir. I am seeking between 3-6 presentations that will last 20 minutes each. None of the presentations can be dull or predictable, since they should set the stage for lively presenter-audience interaction that will continue out in the halls, by the pool, and along the neon strips of Hong Kong or Macau. Because the deadline for proposals is December 31, I will need to know very soon if you are interested, and, if so, I will need a 150-200 word abstract of your presentation or the full paper. I prefer new work, although it can obviously grow out of earlier interests and publications. Information about the conference and the conditions of presenting can be found at: www.crossroads2010.org
